Grade 2 Teachers with their school administrators and the project team.
Building on the success of previous engagements, Project RISE recently held a contract signing ceremony with Grade 2 teachers, formally welcoming them as active participants in the initiative. This follows the first contract signing held last 2024, at the DepEd Iligan Division Office with Grade 1 teachers, principals, and school representatives. That initial agreement marked the beginning of Project RISE’s efforts to improve literacy skills among young learners, outlining teachers’ responsibilities in participating in project initiatives, maintaining confidentiality regarding instructional materials, and integrating the project’s strategies into their classrooms. Following this precedent, the Grade 2 contract signing, effective October 3, 2025, similarly formalizes teachers’ commitment to actively implement Project RISE activities in their classrooms. In return, Project RISE will provide training, instructional materials, and ongoing support to ensure effective integration of the project’s literacy initiatives.
The ceremony was attended by our Flemish partners, Grade 1 teachers, school administrators, principals, and other project's partners. Their participation underscored the collaborative approach necessary to implement Project RISE successfully across grade levels and schools.
This event represents a major milestone for Project RISE, formally securing the commitment of Grade 2 teachers while reinforcing the partnerships established during the Grade 1 agreements. Notably, these Grade 2 teachers will now receive the students who were previously taught by the Project RISE Grade 1 teachers, ensuring continuity in the implementation of the project’s instructional materials and strategies. By engaging teachers, administrators, and international partners in aligned objectives, the project continues to strengthen classroom practices, foster professional development, and enhance literacy outcomes for learners across Iligan City.
