Dr. Dela Pena and school administrator witnessing the contract signing of Grade 1 teachers
The Project RISE recently held a successful contract signing ceremony on December 13, 2024 at the DepEd Iligan Division Office with Grade 1 teachers, principals, and school representatives, marking the start of an exciting journey to improve literacy skills among young learners. This agreement outlines the teachers' roles in participating in Project RISE’s initiatives, maintaining confidentiality regarding project materials, and integrating these efforts into their classrooms. In return, the project will provide essential training, resources, and support. The agreement is effective from December 13, 2024, to August 31, 2029.
The ceremony was attended by administrators, principals, reading coordinators, and representatives from the Local Government Unit of Iligan. Dr. Myra A. Ambalong, Education Program Supervisor (English), introduced the dedicated Grade 1 teachers, while Dr. Dela Pena delivered an inspiring message. He celebrated the Division’s recent awards, highlighting the significant contribution of the Project RISE in these achievements. Dr. Dela Pena emphasized the importance of collaboration between MSU-IIT, the RISE Project, and DepEd, while also addressing the need for multi-sectoral solutions to socio-economic challenges such as learning poverty. Additionally, he expressed the LGU’s strong interest in joining the project and voiced hopes for its expansion to involve more stakeholders.
The signing of this agreement is a major step in securing the commitment of Grade 1 teachers to the success of Project RISE and its vision for improving literacy across the region.
